Dripless Candles – Get Some Of These “No Mess” Candles!

Dripless candles are great for use in setting the mood in the room that’s why they are popular for romantic and intimate setups. However, there’s nothing pretty about getting candle wax all over your tables and countertops so this sometimes deters a lot of interested users from taking advantage of the beauty of candles.

The solution to this then is to use dripless candles instead. It’s such a good idea that someone came up with dripless candles so now you can enjoy the soft glow of candlelight without having to deal with the mess afterwards, ultimately ensuring that you retain your good mood for a longer time.

There are generally two ways to create dripless candles. You can make a slender dripless candle by using thick wicks that are thick enough to absorb melting wax before it drips. If you go this route, you just end up with a stub in your candleholder as the entire candle simply burns away.

The thicker pillar dripless candles, on the other hand, require mixing two kinds of wax: softer wax for the inner core and harder wax to form the outer shell. Since the harder wax shell has a higher melting point, it will not burn along with the inner core. If you light up a pillar dripless candle then, you will just end up with the outer shell since the inner core has already been burned down.

Slender dripless candles are best for mantles, piano tops, and dinner tables, while pillar dripless candles are ideal for pan-like holders or for use inside glass vases. To ensure that your dripless candle burns properly, you have to make sure that you place it in a level spot without a draft.

If your candle leans or if there is a draft, there will be uneven burning, which will result in dripping eventually, no matter how high the quality of your dripless candle is.

There’s no real explanation for it but a lot of people have reported more success in using dripless candles that have been soaked in saltwater for up to 24 hours before being burned. The saltwater solution is a mix of two tablespoons water for every two cups of water.

If you want to make your own dripless candles, you will need candle wax with a standard melting point (135-145), candle wax with high meting point (160-165), and dipping vat. If you want your candles to be scented, just add in some essential oils that you like.
